WHAT TO BRING

We are a private family that rents two adjoining home properties for weekend or weekly rentals. Foremost, we are in the mountains surrounded by a lot of water (river, streams, springs, and ponds). You should bring:

Fishing pole, favorite book to read and hiking shoes. A more detailed list for cottage necessities is suggested to our guests when they make a reservation. We also provide you with a list of suggested items once you have booked with us.

Firewood: Firewood is available for a fee.

Beds: Our cottages have single, double and queen beds in them. Guests must supply their own linens.(sheets, pillowcases, and towels)

Recreation water/fishing: The North Fork of the Tye River runs through our property where guests may find native fish. The state fishing waters begin ½ mile down the road but you must have a Virginia fishing license and trout stamp. There are swimming holes nearby in the Tye River as well as swimming in our pond.

There is no TV, phone, dishwasher, or cell phone reception because we are in between mountains.

Grocery Stores: Food Lion is 25 minutes away on Rt. 29 in Lovingston, smaller convenience stores are 7-8 miles away with good selections for food and supplies.

Pets: Preferably not, will consider on an individual basis.
