Raid The Wind Kennels is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We presently have 9+ Shilohs that share our home with us. Raid The Wind’s foundation stock was selected from the very best stock of the famous Windsong Kennels.Windsong’s owner/breeder Wendy Fullerton spent many years side by side with Tina Barber, the breed founder, and learned everything she could about the vision for this breed. In the nineties she traveled throughout the country attending shows, conducting seminars, and managing temperament and puppy evaluations with Tina.
The result is obvious. Wendy holds two Breeder of the Year titles and one Reserve Breeder of the Year. Windsong’s foundation bitch, GV abc CH Windsong’s Katrinka D’Shiloh ROM (pictured at right), has produced more Champions than any other bitch in the history of the Shiloh breed.
Raid The Wind Kennels represents a partnership between Windsong and Raider Ridge Kennels. Raider Ridge Kennels is owned by Diane McClure and her family. Diane is a semi-retired business executive responsible for founding and starting up four companies, three of which are now publicly traded.
Diane and her family have always owned dogs and usually German Shepherd Dogs (GSDs). Her family's last GSD was a Shutzhund trained SV male, Bagoes, from Holland. When Bagoes died of a brain tumor at the age of 12, they attempted to find another GSD of the same size, form, musculature and stable temperament as Bagoes. They realized that the GSD that they had for so many years embraced as a family member and helpmate was now called a Shiloh Shepherd. In 1998, they bought 2xNSbiCH Windsong’s Midknight Raider ROM, for whom Raider Ridge Kennels is named.
